Hermanni
The neighbourhood of Hermanni is officially divided into Hermanninmäki, Hermanninkylä and Kyläsaari.
Etelä-Hermanni is a fairly new district in the eastern part of central Helsinki. It celebrated its grand opening in 2012 after the State Veterinary Service and Food Research Institute were relocated. Now part of the Vallila district, Hermanni was fully rebuilt in the 1950s and 60s. Back in the 1890s, Hermanni was a dense residential district of wooden buildings. Today, only a few of the old wooden buildings remain.
