Nurmijärvi is a safe and lively rural municipality surrounded by nature near the Helsinki area in the Uusimaa region.

The most famous Nurmijärvi resident is undoubtedly Aleksis Kivi, in honour of whom an annual event is held in Nurmijärvi. The birthplace of Aleksis Kivi is now a museum.
