Modern housing in a skyscraper – Lumo One homes offer apartments for all tastes
The Lumo One homes being built on top of the Redi shopping centre in Kalasatama offer luxury in everyday living. These modern, elegant and compact homes are suitable for a range of living solutions.
Large windows that let in light, high-quality surface materials and a floor plan that suits many kinds of housing needs – the homes in the new Lumo One skyscraper being built in Kalasatama have it all. The new apartment building on top of shopping centre Redi will have 291 modern Lumo homes that can be easily decorated according to the residents’ wishes.
Take a look at the Lumo One homes virtually here!
1. The Lumo One skyscraper will have 291 homes. 123 singles, 120 two-room apartments, 25 three-room apartments and 23 four-room apartments.
“There is no unused space in the apartments. The floor plans are extremely efficient. These homes are equally suitable for singles, couples and families. Retired people who want to live near services and the sea will also enjoy these apartments,” says Maiju Lindström, who is responsible for newly constructed properties at Lumo homes.
The skyscraper will be the tallest rental property in Finland, and it will offer singles, two-room apartments and compact three- and four-room apartments. Most of the apartments will be singles and two-room apartments.
2. The areas of the singles range between 20–32 m², two-room apartments 35–48.5 m², three-room apartments 49–57.5 m² and four-room apartments 66.5–72 m².
“These homes are suitable for a range of living arrangements. For example, the rooms of the larger apartments can easily be converted into home offices,” Lindström suggests.
Colours that satisfy different tastes
The colours of the Lumo One homes are from the peaceful Scandinavian palette, and the surface materials are of high quality. There are three material options available for the interiors: one has light colours in both the kitchen and the bathrooms, including the cabinets. The other has black-and-white cabinets that are more suitable for the industrial aesthetic. The third colour palette combines white with wood.
“The different decoration styles are available on all floors. Each floor has its own colour palette, ensuring that everyone can find the floor and home that meet their wishes,” says Pia Pöllänen, who is responsible for newly constructed properties at Lumo One.
All apartments have high-quality, easy-to-maintain parquette floors in the colour of oak. The walls are white and the window frames are black.
“The interior surfaces are slightly edgy, which makes the home more interesting. We have also tried to select materials that are easy to maintain,” Pöllänen says.
Sunrooms make Lumo One homes special
The homes in the skyscraper have sunrooms instead of balconies. The sunroom adds more light, space and a touch of luxury to the apartment.
“The whole sunroom is thermally insulated, which means that it can be used as living space and as a wow element in all seasons. On the other hand, the sunroom can also be set off as a balcony or a cosy reading space, for instance,” Maiju Lindström points out.
4. Instead of balconies, Lumo One homes have small, heated sunrooms.
The sunroom is an extension of the living room, and it features glazed sliding doors and floor-to-ceiling windows. The floor material is tile.
“The sunroom has views in multiple directions. Because the construction of the tower buildings is in progress, the views from each apartment will still change. But in any case, the sunroom adds space and light to the apartment, and in the upper floors, it is like a constantly changing work of art,” Lindström says.
Thanks to mechanical ventilation, the temperature of the sunroom stays moderate even in sunshine.
“If the resident wants to let some fresh air into the sunroom, they can open the glazed door like on a French balcony,” says Heidi Rautio, who is responsible for newly constructed properties at Lumo homes.
Some homes have their own heated storage rooms inside the apartment, and others have dedicated storage space that is located in the common areas.
“The storage rooms inside the apartments are small, heated rooms, kind of like walk-in closets. Of course, the residents can also use the space for other purposes than storage”, Maiju Lindström says.
