Tuira is located on the northern side of the Oulujoki river, in the immediate vicinity of the centre. Nearly all local bus lines run through Tuira. An eight-storey apartment building in West Tuira. All apartments have glazed balconies. The courtyard is pleasant and green, with good play areas for children. There is a common barbecue area in the courtyard of Hartaantie 14. Within walking distance are the services of the Tuira health centre, kindergartens, a local shop and schools.
