Eva's home combines beauty with practicality
This home in the heart of Helsinki combines Scandinavian simplicity with harmonious tones. The atmosphere of an old building, carefully considered details, and calming colours make Eva’s 63-square-metre three-room flat both beautiful and practical.
"I want the home to be beautiful. However, the functionality should not be compromised, and I have made some creative solutions", Eva reflects.
Two timelessly beautiful homes in Tampere
In Tammela, Tampere, stands the historic old shoe factory designed by Emil Aaltonen, whose red brick walls conceal bright and unique Lumo homes. High ceilings, large windows, and a warm-hearted neighborhood make the building so cozy that residents don't want to leave; instead, they move to another apartment within the building when their life situation changes.
We had the chance to peek inside two unique homes where timeless style, art and design meet.
Tiina’s colourful sanctuary, where every detail tells a story
Tina Arponen – known from social media as @muitaihania on Instagram – lives with her family on the eighth floor. Their home in Helsinki’s Alppiharju district offers breathtaking views over the city. The playful and warm home reflects Tiina's attitude towards life: decorating doesn't have to be serious, and even adults can let their inner child run free.
"Even the maintenance man said during his last visit that the decor here is wonderfully colorful.", Tiina laughs.
Roosa's unique home in Lahti is full of secondhand treasures and bold combinations
Roosa's interior design strongly reflects her personal style – a mix of 80s bohemian vibes, romance, bold colors, and plenty of paintings, plants, and decorative objects. Located in the Ankkuri area of Lahti, the Lumo home is filled with colors, patterns, plants, and artwork.
