Alppiharju
Alppiharju is located in the eastern part of downtown Helsinki, between Kallio, Taka-Töölö and Vallila.
Alppiharju consists of the sub-districts Alppila and Harju. Most of the buildings in Alppiharju were built in the early 1900s.
There are many well-known attractions in the area. Brahenkenttä is a sports ground where people can skate on artificial ice in winter. Linnanmäki is the oldest amusement park in Finland, with more than 40 rides and other types of entertainment. Located on Sturenkatu, the Helsinki Hall of Culture is a legendary venue that has hosted concerts by world-renowned artists for more than 60 years. Also nearby is the lively and youthful district of Kallio with its many bars and restaurants. The city centre can be reached in 10 minutes by tram or bus.
