Children of all ages love to bake, and baking brings Christmas cheer to even the slightly older bakers.

Nowadays, Christmas baking is wonderfully easy with store-bought dough. Just buy gingerbread or pastry dough from the grocery store, defrost according to the instructions and you’re ready to start baking!

Gingerbread makes your home smell like Christmas, and they are the tastiest when enjoyed warm, almost right out of the oven. The more patient bakers can wait for the gingerbread to cool down and then decorate them, making them a great gift for your neighbours.

The Finnish Christmas pastries called joulutorttu are just as easy to make. You can make different versions of the pastries by adding, for example, sweets instead of the traditional prune jam. Chocolate and other sweets that melt work particularly well, we hear. For example, you can try mint chocolate or Christmas chocolates as the centrepiece of the pastry.
