Länsimäki is located at the border between Helsinki and Vantaa, in the major region of Hakunila. The green Länsimäki is full of parks and connects almost seamlessly to the Mellunmäki district in Helsinki.

Länsimäki offers excellent transport links. The area has frequent bus connections, and the Mellunmäki metro station is located approximately one kilometre away on Helsinki’s side of the border. The area contains a primary and lower secondary school, several day care centres, and a sports park.
