Jynkkä
Jynkkä is a district located 6-8 km south of Kuopio city centre. The area was mainly built in the 1980s. A housing fair was held in Jynkä in 1980. The area is bordered to the east by the Kallavesi lake. There are also several ponds in Jynkkä, the largest are Leväsenlampi and Petosenlampi.
Jynkkä has good services such as a grocery store, pharmacy, vet, library, hairdresser and restaurant. The shopping centres Kolmisoppi and Matkus are located within a few kilometres. Families with children are also served by short distances to both primary and secondary schools. A new log-built kindergarten will be built in Jynkkä and is scheduled to open in autumn 2025.
The area has extensive green areas and varied outdoor trails, a swimming beach and an ice hockey rink.
