Katajanokka

Katajanokka is known especially for its magnificent tourist attraction, the Uspenski cathedral, which stands high on top of a hill next to the Market Square (Kauppatori).

The coastal, high-profile residential area of Katajanokka is located in southern Helsinki on the city’s east shore and close to the comprehensive services of the city centre. The ferries to Sweden pass by and the historical buildings of the Suomenlinna island can be seen in the horizon. Katajanokka’s nickname Skatta is derived from the area’s Swedish name Skatudden.

Rental apartments in Katajanokka are close to the sea and services

The residents in the Lumo homes in Katajanokka will find it easy to go and grab a cup of coffee and a nice bun at the Kauppatori market, or they can choose to enjoy the fresh delicacies of the Old Market Hall instead. All services are just a short walk away, and you can take a tram for longer distances. Katajanokka also has several day-care centres, including Swedish day care, and an elementary school.
