Originally built in 1980, Haapaniemenkatu 11 is located in the unique and trendy Merihaka residential area right by the sea. The apartments range from studios to larger units and were given a modern and stylish update in a large renovation made in May 2018.
Merihaka is a residential area with apartment buildings located along the seaside in the heart of Helsinki. It is part of the Sörnäinen district, but it is often considered a neighborhood of its own. The area is located between the seaside, Hakaniemi Bridge, and Sörnäinen seafront road, offering many services of eastern Helsinki and is near the sea.
Residents have access to shared spaces including a sauna, a drying room, and storage spaces. The sauna area, located in the attic, was renovated in 2010. The building’s outside look was updated in 2011, improving its appearance and adding glassed-in balconies.

Merihaka
As the name suggests, Merihaka is by the sea in Helsinki's city center. This concrete brutalist block of apartments was built in the 1970s and 1980s and sits on a yard deck with plenty of parking space below. The top of the yard deck is reserved for pedestrians, where the services of Merihaka can also be found.

From Merihaka, you can quickly get to the sea for outdoor activities. Tervasaari, with its dog park, is located on the other side of Siltavuorensalmi, just over a kilometer from Merihaka. Mustikkamaa jogging trails and the stunning scenery of Kaivopuisto are about three kilometers away. Thanks to Merihaka's central location, cycling is a quick way to get to different parts of the metropolitan area.
